Alexander Salino

Alessandro Sannino, born in Pompeii in March 1972, holds a PhD in Architecture from the Università Federico II di Napoli Facoltà di Architettura, with a maximum score of 110 and Laude. He carried out the Laurea project at the Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSAB). The project received a second prize in the architecture awards for promising newcomers, organized by Aguirre-Newman.


Born into a family of builders and artists, he has always been passionate about the entire process of creating and constructing buildings.

In 1990 he graduated as a surveyor from the “Ernesto Cesaro Technical Institute for Surveyors in Torre Annunziata (Naples)”.


In 2000 he passed the State Examination to qualify as an architect.


Master in Pedagogy from the University of Barcelona in 2009.

Since 2000 he is the founding architect of aiastudio together with the architect Anna Mezquita. Their collaboration began during his studies at the TU, Delft, Holland after receiving an ERASMUS scholarship.


The development of projects related to scientific research and development has provided him with excellent experience in the field.

He has also directed part of the creation stages of the Barcelona Science Park as the property architect.


In recent years he has also specialised in the restoration of heritage buildings, carrying out numerous interventions in the city of Barcelona.


He also works as an interim professor for different disciplines in the teaching department of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

Prior to the creation of aiastudio, he worked as Project Manager on the development project of a Theme Park in Bari (Italy) for the architecture studio of Daniel Freixes (Varis Arquitectes).


He has collaborated in various architectural and urban planning studios:


  • 1987-1990: Collaboration in the office of the Geometer Michel Buono as a draughtsman and designer.
  • 1990-91: Collaboration in the architectural office “SO.GE.TECNO” of the Architect Elio Gargiulo.
  • 1993-94: Collaboration in the Engineering Office of Engineer Mario Paduano.
  • 1999-2000: Collaboration in the HOM office of the Architect Miguel Pérez Sánchez



Anna Mosque More

Anna Mezquita born in Barcelona in January 1972 is an architect graduated from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB).


He developed his final year project at the: Università Federico II di Napoli Facoltà di Architettura, Italy.


He won a second prize in the annual awards held by the company DRAGADOS for the best final year projects.


Since 1999 she has been responsible for the Infrastructure and Works Department of the Barcelona Science Park and combines this role with the management of aiastudio together with the architect Alessandro Sannino.


His participation in the entire creation process of the Barcelona Science Park, as well as the design and development of all its interiors, has provided him with a wealth of experience in the field of design and construction of research centres.


He has collaborated with a major American architectural and engineering firm, JMGR, Inc., based in Memphis, Tennessee. An international firm specializing in the development of hospitals and research centers.

She received an Erasmus scholarship to pursue her architectural studies at the TU Delft, Netherlands where she began her collaboration with the architect, Alessandro Sannino.


In 1996, she was invited to the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) to discuss “Architecture and International Education”.

In the same year he participated in the Woorkshop: “Architectur and Detail” on “The Virtual City” in Zonestral (Hilversum), Holland.


In 1995, he received a scholarship to work in the urban planning department of Barcelona City Council, where he developed several urban development projects in the Sarriá-Sant Gervasi district of the city.



In 1998 she was the architect responsible for the “Aid to Architects” service of the Cooperative of Architects of the Official College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC).


He has participated in heritage restoration courses and has also taught energy efficiency courses.
